The classification in relation to roughness is:

Yellow: Least Rough. Ideal for very fine work and for beginners.

Red: Slightly rough. Suitable for use on gel or semi-permanent.

Blue: Moderately rough. Used for more demanding work such as removing hard gel and acrylic but also semi-permanent.

Green: Very rough. Ideal for removing artificial nails but also for treating dead skin cells and calluses.

Black: Very rough. Used for removing resistant gel systems, acrylics and very hardened skin.

Orange: Extra rough.
